#5 Long side and turn on the haunches

Is this a helpful exercise?

Appropriate Gaits: Walk, Trot, Canter

Instructions:

Ride the long side, halting before the corner, and perform a 180 degree turn on the haunches.  Then ride to the other end of long side and repeat.

Repeat: 8 x 180 degree turns.

Optional Focus: Feel that you can influence each foot step individually (it is not ideal to have the horse spin around).

Good for: Collection. Forwardness.
